Taylor Swift to embark on The Eras Tour next year
By Anthony Cesario
What did I do today? Hm, nothing out of the ordinary. Got up. Ate breakfast. Went to class. Spent four and a half excruciating hours in a Ticketmaster queue just so I could get the chance at participating in the presale for Taylor Swift’s next tour. You know, the usual.
This morning, the singer went on Good Morning America to announce The Eras Tour, which she described as “a journey through the musical eras of [her] career (past and present).” The all-stadium tour will commence on March 18, with 27 US dates as of now, and international dates to be announced later.
This will be Taylor’s first tour since the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018 (which I attended myself, and whose amazingness I can personally attest to) and the cancellation of the planned follow-up, Lover Fest, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She’s released four full albums’ worth of material since then: Lover (2019), folklore (2020), evermore (2020), and Midnights (2022), as well as vault tracks from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021). It will certainly be interesting to see how she manages to fit all her eras into a single setlist; here’s me hoping beyond hope that I will finally get to see “I Think He Knows” live.
Surprisingly, in an era where ticket prices are notoriously inflated and unpredictable, Taylor has already announced the prices for The Eras Tour in advance. Standard tickets will range from $49 to $449 and VIP packages will range from $199 to $899.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Nov. 18. But if you are a Capital One cardholder, you will get access to an exclusive pre-sale on Nov. 15. You can also gain access to another pre-sale on Nov. 15 by registering for the Ticketmaster Verified Fan Program from now until Nov. 9. (Hopefully it doesn’t take you as long as it did me.)
The Eras Tour will include opening acts by Paramore, Gayle, Beabadoobee, Gracie Abrams, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl in Red, Muna, Owenn, and Haim. You can visit Taylor’s website to find out which artists will be playing which dates, and more information about the tour.
