Tate McRae ended her Miss Possessive Tour with a bang last weekend. On Nov 7, she performed her final show at the Kia Forum. This was her third sold-out show at the venue, as she added the date to the tour after playing two shows there earlier in the year. With 83 shows, it was McRae’s biggest tour to date and her first arena tour.

Tate had different openers on the multiple legs of her tour, and the opener on Saturday was none other than Alessi Rose, who wore a sheer dress with small pink objects attached to it on top of a white and pink polka dot bikini. The British sensation brought humour and spunk as she performed a mix of indie pop and pop rock for the crowd.
Tate McRae took the stage at 9pm and did not disappoint, bringing the energy from the very beginning. She opened with the tour titled “Miss possesive” accompanied by smoke, lights, and visuals. Channeling her Dance Mom days, she was joined by eight dancers for tons of different routines. She started the show off in a black bandage-style top, black bottoms, and black heels. The next outfit made an appearance in “Purple lace bra” but despite the title, her outfit was made up of a white bra with silver gems paired with black workout pants.
The stage was I-shaped, with the big stage having a raised platform and the catwalk connected to the second, smaller part of the stage. The platform was used throughout the show, starting with “Miss possessive”, and continuing through the chair dance for “Purple lace bra”, the supporting beams below were also used by the backup dancers. The smaller stage was separated into 5 parts that raised and lowered, and was where Tate’s pole dance between “Like I do” and “uh oh” took place. When the platforms were all on the same level, the smaller stage was used for the line group dances, including “Dear god”, “exes”, “It’s ok I’m ok” and “greedy”.

When she made her way to the B stage, a circular stage that could be raised and lowered, Tate performed in a long all white dress with a leg slit and long, flowy sleeves. There she played acoustic versions of some of her songs, starting with “Greenlight”. She continued on to play small portions of “rubberband”, “One Day”, and “feel like shit” as she reminisced about the beginning of her career. She ran into some technical difficulties when she attempted to play “you broke me first” on a piano, but the problem was quickly resolved. Tate then played “run for the hills” as she made her way back to the main stage.
After her return, she came back on stage in a pink ensemble with shorts and a bikini top, with hand wraps and long black boots. Between “bloodonmyhands” and “Tit for Tat”, as a gift to her fans, Tate announced the release date for So Close To What??? (Deluxe) as November 21, just two weeks after the end of the tour. For the encore, she sang the Grammy-nominated “Just Keep Watching” as well as “Sports car”. And to finish the show, complete with an outfit change, she performed “greedy” in a black t-shirt thrown on top of her last outfit that had glittery blue writing on it reading “so close to what???”. The show ended with a bang as confetti was sprayed over the crowd and the So Close To What??? (Deluxe) visuals were displayed on screen.
The show was extraordinary with insane choreography, great camera work, and amazing production, including lights, smoke, fireworks, fire, and much more. Tate and her dancers served looks all night, and we will be thinking about this night until So Close To What??? (Deluxe) is released and long after.
