Austin City Limits Music Festival, week one, was the event of the weekend. With a star-studded lineup and thousands of fans, we could talk about it all week. Taking the cake, along with ROLEMODEL bringing out Hillary Duff as ‘Sally’ and HAYLA joining John Summit on stage for the hit ‘Shiver,’ was Shania Twain’s guest appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s ACL set.

The two are no strangers, with Shania praising Sabrina’s talent in multiple interviews and Sabrina citing Shania Twain as one of her musical inspirations. They have collaborated before. In Carpenter’s Christmas special, ‘A Nonsense Christmas,’ the duo performed an acoustic version of the holiday hit, ‘Santa Baby.’

This past weekend, during Austin City Limits, the leading ladies performed a Shania hit, ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much.’ Sabrina has previously covered the song solo as a surprise cover during her Short & Sweet world tour. Carpenter has also covered one of Twain’s most recognizable songs, ‘Man, I Feel Like A Woman.’

Shania Twain was the perfect guest appearance for Sabrina to work into her set at this Austin Festival. Many artists were leaning into the city’s western vibe. Sabrina’s bedazzled denim micro shorts and personalized gingham button-up are no exception. With the western vibe in mind, bringing out the iconic Shania Twain, who is a country legend and the singer of many country girl anthems, couldn’t have happened at a better place or time.
