Reneé Rapp’s Bite Me tour made its way to LA on Friday and was spunky, just like her. Singer, Syd, opened for Rapp, hyping up the crowd before Rapp took the stage. Rapp began the show with “Leave Me Alone”, one of the singles off her new album, while she descended from a platform in a marching band jacket on top of an all black ensemble.

As any Reneé Rapp fan knows, her concerts are also a comedy show, and this one did not disappoint. Between songs, there were videos of Rapp seemingly getting mug shots taken and participating in a police interrogation for fighting that continued throughout the show.

She performed 19 songs, most from the new album, along with six from her first album, 2 from her EP, and “Not My Fault”, a song from her movie “Mean Girls”. Although Megan herself didn’t make an appearance for “Not My Fault”, Rapp kept the night interesting with plenty of other cameos.

It is a concert tradition for her to pan to the audience during “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone” specifically for the lyrics “I think I like you better when you’re across the f*****g country”. At some of her other shows, the act has been done by close friends or celebrity guests. At the Kia Forum, the camera panned to internet personality Jake Shane and actress Cara Delevingne, who put their whole chest into the lyrics, and then promptly kissed on screen.

The surprises didn’t stop there as Rapp brought out singer Leon Thomas to perform “Mutt”. She joined in on some of the verses but mostly just appreciated his performance, as she explained she loves bringing some of her favorite artists out because the fans get to listen to them, but most importantly, she gets to listen to them.

Rapp's high energy was a highlight of the night; however, for a couple of songs, she performed with just a piano. During this time, there was a commotion on the second deck as someone was having a medical emergency, so Rapp stopped the show to get light in the area and send a medic, but never one to let a moment get too serious, she joked about how she passes out all the time, usually ending with hard falls. After a thumbs-up from the fans and medics, she launched back into the show.

To finish the night out, Rapp ended with “At Least I'm Hot”, from the new album. In the second verse of the song, Rapp's girlfriend, Towa Bird, has an ad-libbed part, and in an exciting twist, the camera panned to Towa, who was at the show, to sing her part. Towa then came on stage to dance with Rapp and the rest of her band to finish out the show. A Reneé Rapp concert is really a party at heart, and Rapp brought that energy to her hometown show as only she can.
