What do you get when you mix a nostalgic 2000s anthem, one of country music’s hottest rising stars, and a global pop icon? The answer: “Drunk Right Now (Na Na Na),” the unexpected collab between Josh Ross and Akon, and now it has a music video that’s just as bold as the pairing itself.

Released via MCA / Mercury Nashville / Universal Music Canada, the official music video brings the already-viral track to life, capturing the song’s carefree, no-regrets energy. Directed by Mattias Russo-Larsson and Lewis Atallah, the visual is packed with party-night vibes, dancing, neon-lit chaos, and sing-along-worthy moments that match the energy of the song beat-for-beat.

Josh Ross has been vocal about how Akon’s music influenced him early on. “Akon’s music was always a huge part of my life growing up,” Ross shared. “Having two older siblings, his songs were always playing, his sound, his hooks, everything about it just stuck with me before I even knew what the words meant.” What started as a spontaneous studio rework of Akon’s 2008 hit “Right Now (Na Na Na)” quickly turned into a fan favorite during Ross’s shows. The crowd reaction was so strong, he decided to send the track to Akon, and to his surprise, Akon was all in.

“He loved it and wanted to jump on it,” Ross explained. “It’s one of those full-circle moments I never saw coming and I’m truly grateful to have a summer party anthem.”

The track blends Ross’s gritty, modern country delivery with Akon’s unmistakable hook for a remix that feels nostalgic, unexpected, and totally addictive. Since its release, “Drunk Right Now” has earned millions of streams and become a favorite sound on TikTok, with the music video now pushing that momentum even further.

Josh Ross continues to prove why he’s one of the most exciting names in country music today. His current single, “Single Again,” is climbing inside the Top 10 at country radio, and he recently made waves during CMA Fest, performing at multiple major stages and even popping up during Bailey Zimmerman’s Nissan Stadium set.

With nearly 1 billion global streams, a JUNO Award win, and a packed summer tour schedule, including dates with Dylan Scott this fall, Ross is on a fast track to the top. And with collaborations like this one, he’s showing that country music can take bold, genre-blending leaps without losing its heart.
