Joey Myron Defies Boundaries with Electrifying New Single “Smile”

Joey Myron has never been one to stick to a single lane, musically or otherwise. With his latest single “Smile”, the rising alt-country force proves once again that rules are meant to be bent (or completely rewritten). The track is a love-soaked rush that blends western swagger, R&B smoothness, and just enough modern pop polish to make it irresistible. Think cowboy boots on a neon-lit city street somehow, it just works.

Where some artists find comfort in staying inside the lines, Myron treats music like an open road. His baritone voice carries the grit and gravitas of legends like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, while his melodic instincts nod to Nina Simone’s soulful touch and Frank Sinatra’s timeless cool. Add in the moody atmosphere of The Weeknd and the genre-blending fearlessness of Post Malone, and you’ve got a sound that’s entirely his own.

But Myron’s artistry isn’t built on vibe alone, it’s rooted in musicianship. A classically trained pianist since age seven, he honed his craft at Berklee College of Music before packing up for Los Angeles to chase his dream on his own terms. That leap paid off, with collaborations alongside top producers like Mickey Valen and the breakout hit “Chills,” which has racked up over 100 million streams.

With “Smile”, Myron takes a familiar saying, the age-old (and overused) “smile” directive and turns it on its head. Instead of a man telling a woman to cheer up, this time it’s the woman playfully nudging her hard-working guy to loosen up because, well, she knows he’s marriage material. The result is flirty, fun, and addictive, with a chorus that practically begs to be sung back.

More than just another single, “Smile” is a mission statement. Myron isn’t chasing trends or fitting into neat genre boxes. He’s crafting something unpredictable yet deeply authentic, pulling from every corner of his influences while keeping his storytelling front and center.
